New Thought Spirituality
The foundation of New Thought philosophy is:
- God is all, both invisible and visible.
One Presence, One Mind, One Power is all there is.
This One that is all is perfect life, perfect love, and perfect substance.
Man is the individualized expression of God and is ever one with this
perfect life, perfect love, and perfect substance.
Man's expressions on earth are not perfect because Divine Life flows and filters through human consciousness, which sees and believes in duality. Therefore, our expressions mirror the dual nature of our mind, the mistaken belief in two powers.
Life is governed by the law of mind action.
While this and other related principles are not new, but ancient, they are taught extensively through the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, Charles Fillmore, Ernest Holmes and other New Thought pioneers who expressly put forth this doctrine in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in the United States. We use much of their materials as tools for instruction in New Light Temple. More contemporary New Thought favorites are: Eckhart Tolle, Depak Chopra, Louise Hay, Michael Beckwith, Wayne Dyer, Esther Hicks, and many others.
